Famous Curta calculating machine, developed by Curt Herzstark, Type I with its original case. It was made in Liechtenstein by Contina AG Mauren. Serial number is 26464, was made in July 1954. Accompanied by the original box/canister.
This remarkable mechanical calculator is much sought after. It is a versatile yet very small precision machine with a fascinating history. It was devised by Curt Herzstark while he was in Buchenwald concentration camp. He was given a drawing board and was encouraged so that it could be given to the Führer. However, development was completed after liberation by the Americans.
