Original fine and very rare vintage Zodiac ‘Heuer 12 Dato’ Triple Calendar Chronograph, Ref. 2547, SN 226392 (both serial and reference are visible between the lugs). The twin brother of “Heuer Carrera 12 Dato” Ref. 2547S, featuring identical movements, cases, dials, bezels, sub-dials and hands, pushers, even the same reference number.
In 1967 the most complicated Zodiac/Heuer Carrera with day, month and date, the reference 2547 was introduced. The full calendar version was powered by an enhanced Valjoux 72c movement called Valjoux 723. Equipped with a snap-back as found on later versions, this example has been very well maintained with an attractive black reverse-panda dial featuring an outer blue date track. The reverse-panda dial is one of most wanted chronograph designs and contrasts perfectly with the subtle blue accents of the outer calendar ring and red-tipped date hand.
Movement: manual winding lever movement, cal. Valjoux 723, 17 jewels; Dial: black dial, applied Arabic and baton indexes with luminescent dots, crescent hand for date, white engine turned subsidiary dials for constant seconds, 30 minute, and 12 hour registers, apertures for day and month in English, outer minute and 1/5 second divisions, outer most chapter ring with blue painted Arabic dates; Case: stainless steel case, two chronograph pushers to the band. Case, dial, and movement signed. Dimensions: 36mm.
Age related condition with slight traces of wear. Watch is in overall very good condition, running and ready to wear or gift!
