Extremely rare and beautifully preserved 36mm all steel BREITLING chronograph, housed in waterproof “clamshell” case (Pat. №189190), powered by Venus 175, made circa 1940s. Original silver dial in great condition for its age, only showing very minor spotting, has taken on a lovely patina over time. The lume in both hands and dial are still present. The watch is paired with NOS vintage leather strap to complete the look.
C. Three-body, polished and brushed, concave lugs, stepped bezel, case back held by 4 screws. D. Silver with painted luminous Arabic numerals, subsidiary dials for the seconds and 45-minute counter, 1/5 second/minute divisions with five minute Arabic numerals. Steel blued luminous hands. M. Cal. Venus 175, rhodium-plated, straight line lever escapement, monometallic balance, self- compensating Breguet balance-spring, index regulator. Dial, case, and movement signed. Dim. 36 mm.
