Rare and fine, automatic, 34mm stainless steel Girard Perregaux Chronometer HF Gyromatic wristwatch, Ref. 8795 V, movement No. 17813, Cal. 32A. Made in the 1960’s. Features one of the most famous high frequency chronometer movements ever made Cal. 32A, original dial in remarkably great condition and original Girard Perregaux stainless steel bracelet the same as seen on advertising (up to 18 cm wrist).
Powered by the chronometer grade High Frequency (36,000 vph) Gyromatic Calibre 32A (39 jewels), it is clear that Girard Perregaux was at the top of their precision watchmaking game long before many of their competitors. In fact, when these pieces were originally sold, they had a price tag of nearly twice that of a Rolex GMT Master!
Built in a limited production run of only 662 pieces, the Calibre 32A saw its way into a variety of Gyromatic signed pieces of different case designs, making each an extremely limited and interesting piece. Watch is in overall great condition, running and ready to wear!
