Very rare LONGINES Ref. 16 Ultra-Quartz wristwatch – The World First And Only Cybernetic Watch with unique movement Cal. 6512, based on the famous top-secret Project Hourglass, made circa 1970s. The Holy Grail of all electronic watch collections and the rarest of the lot.
The thing that makes this watch so unique is the large presence of discrete electronic components ( resistors, capacitors, transistors ) rather then a single integrated circuit ( IC ) and all of them appear to be randomly soldered together. The only Cybernetic movement ever made and instead of an IC it used separate micro sized electronic parts – 14 transistors , 19 resistors and 7 capacitors have been shoe horned into this watch movement . Hardly any of these survive today.
