VACHERON & CONSTANTIN REF. 4591 YELLOW GOLD, No. 485418, case No. 328242, Ref. 4591. Made 1952. Very fine and rare, rectangular, flared, 18K yellow gold classical dress wristwatch with its original box, leather bracelet with original yellow gold 18K VC buckle and extract from Vacheron Constantin archives.
C: Two-body, solid gold, on the sides central overhanging elements, rounded lugs. D: Engraved matte silver with applied yellow gold dart indexes and arabic numerals, subsidiary seconds dial. Yellow gold baton hands. M: Cal. 435/3C, tonneau, rhodium plated, fausses cotes.decoration, 17 jewels, straight line lever escapement, beryllium balance with timing screws, adjusted to temperatures self-compensating Breguet balance spring. Dial, case and movement signed. DIM. 24 x 38 mm.
An outstanding dress watch with an incredibly strong architectural influence. The main thing about the watch is gorgeous, dramatically arched case with unique “folding” crystal, which is quite difficult to photograph btw. As you can see on the picture, there is a small ‘folding’ line from 3 o’clock to 9 o’clock.
