rare Vacheron Constantin 18K Yellow Gold Mens Dress Watch with unique Maltese cross style fancy lugs, Ref. 6068 in fully working order with its original 18K gold VC buckle and new old stock Vacheron Constantin leather strap. Watch was made in 1950s, case serial number is 353502, movement serial number is 525616. Hand-winding movement cal. Vacheron Constantin 1001 runs great and all functions work as expected. This is a famous movement, it was actually made by Jaeger LeCoultre, and supplied exclusively to Vacheron by JLC (although a similar movement was supplied also to Audemars). Here’s what what expert said about the cal. 1001:
“An elegant calibre in five bridges, the sub-seconds 1001 and the center-seconds 1002 had formed the basis of Vacheron & Constantin’s reputation in the 1950s and 60s. They were matched only by the peak 10 and 12 ligne handwinds of Patek Philippe…”
Please take a look at the photos for condition. Case measures 32mm (excluding the crown). Dial, case and movement signed. Watch is in overall perfect condition, running and ready to wear or gift!
