Rare 34mm steel Universal Geneve Polerouter Electric wristwatch, Ref. 860100/01 (aka 219301-1) made in 1960s in very limited quantity.
Universal presented its Polerouter Electrique in 1963, a model completing the collection that first appeared nine years earlier to celebrate the first polar route established by the Scandinavian airline SAS. The watch features a calibre UG 60 movement (based on LIP R148 reworked by UG), fine finished with 14 jewels and runs on a 1.5 Volt battery. The movement features a stop function, and the battery lasts for approximately one year. The price of the watch when new in 1963 was CHF 150. Manufacturer was not able to confirm production numbers, but states that it was “low”.
