BREITLING Compass Explorateur, Ref. 80940

CHF 2,000

Sold

Very rare large BREITLING “Explorateur” Ref. 80940, navigational diving wristwatch, equipped with integrated magnetic compass, made circa 1986. This watch was only manufactured by Breitling for one year and hardly any of these survive today. With its black PVD case in aluminium it already looks and feels tool-ish, but when it’s opened – inside is a compass that can be removed, or read through the back. This watch was engineered to work in extreme conditions (-20°C to +50°C), to meet “military and scientific requirements” according to the original ad. Diameter is 46.5 mm (incl. crown), thickness 15.5 mm.

Watch is in overall great condition 8/10, running and ready to wear or gift!
