Vintage Swiss made REUGE automaton musical alarm gilt pocket watch “The Fountain”, No. 1403, comes with its original winding key and box. The watch is in a very good, fully working order, was bought in 1990s. The dial set in a pastoral enamel scene, surmounted by vari-coloured gilt automaton scene depicting a falconer watering his horse at a trough with a lady operating the pump flowing simulated water, the huntsman raising and lowering his arm holding a hawk. Engine turned easle back case. This unique pocket watch contains the smallest mechanical Reuge musical movement in the world, the MB 1.17, 1 tune, 17-note movement. The automated scene is gold-plated 20 microns over brass and has a Swiss 17-jewel mechanical shock- absorbent watch movement and alarm function. At the appointed time, the music plays and the animated scene moves. The musical and automation movements are wound at the back using a winding key. The watch movement is wound by means of the crown. The music and automated scene may also be activated by pressing the button on the back. See photos.
