Rare and well-preserved Omega hunting cased keyless pocket watch for a blind person with rare “Braille” / “Tactile” dial, Ref. AA 241 LV, Cal. Omega 40,6 S T2 15P, made in 1930s. A special model without a crystal and with a tactile display. Enamel dial with hours marked by dots in relief and “poire” hands that sturdy enough to allow the time to be read by touch. The dial marked “Importé de Suisse” (Imported from Switzerland) indicates that the watch was intended for France.
Movement: manual, cal. 40,6 S T2 15P, 15 Jewels, rhodium-plated, straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance with Breguet balance spring, SN: 7748637; Dial: White enamel, radial Paris-style Arabic numerals in the center, each with enamel touch piece, 12 o’clock with three pieces, quarters with two. Blued steel “spade” hands; Case: Four-body, “bassine”, polished, silver hinged cuvette. Movement, dial and case signed. Dim. 50 mm.
