Extremely rare and well-preserved fine 18K yellow gold hunter BREGUET №155 Quarter Repeater key winding pocket watch with cylinder escapement. Made circa 1814s. 50mm savonnette case made by Leopold Secheret (case maker’s mark LS for Leopold Secheret), decorated with gold engine turned covers ‘’a grains d’orge’, amazing original engine-turned silver dial with secret signature “Breguet”  between XI and XII marks, powered by quarter repeating movement calibre 18”’ with two hammers activated by a pull-and-twist piston in the band. Watch comes with a copy of hand written description made by the last owner (died 10 year ago) and fitting key (B-shaped).

Very interesting, that there are two different Breguet with the same number № B155 registered in the official archives and only thanks to Seyena Ahonyo (Breguet Museum Archivist) we’ve got correct extract. This watch appears in Breguet archives under the following description: “Petite montre de poche à ponts, 18-lignes, boîte d’or savonette, cuvette d’or, cadran d’argent. Vendue à Mme Janssens, le 30 septembre 1836 pour la somme de 1600 francs.” The second B155 pocket watch (now part of permanent Breguet museum exposition, sold on July 27, 1812) belongs to the first series manufactured by Breguet. This watch B155 was made a few years later (sold on September 30, 1836) and corresponds to the second series. They were able to differentiate them thanks to the numbers engraved on the inside of the rear cover.
