Vintage fine and rare 18k gold ultra-thin 1.98 mm quartz-piloted LONGINES Feuille d’Or (“Gold Leaf”) a masterpiece also known as Delirium in a fully working order, made in 1979. This was the world’s thinnest watch with mechanical hands for 40 years, until recently surpassed by Bulgari Octo Finissimo Ultra (1.80 mm) and Richard Mille RM UP-01 (1.75 mm).
Powered by Cal. L795.2 (ETA Cal. 999.001), this watch showcases a groundbreaking design where the case and dial doubles as the movement’s main plates. A true engineering feat born of the “Delirium très mince” project, which pushed quartz design to new heights.
In the 1980s, the Longines Feuille d’Or, part of the Delirium très mince series, was priced as a true luxury item, reportedly costing around $10,000. This made it ten times the price of a Rolex Submariner at the time, which was around $1,000.
A technological marvel from 1979 – mint condition, wearable men’s size 24.5 x 35 x 1.98 mm, fully operational, protective film intact, comes with its original Longines strap, 18k gold buckle and box.
Watch is in overall great almost new old stock condition 9/10, never polished sharp case, running and ready to wear or gift!
