Fine, funky and very rare Girard Perregaux “Circuit” / “Tron” dial wristwatch, Ref. 9444 KG, made in Nov 1972. Comes on original GP leather strap with correct steel buckle, price tag and protective paper on caseback. The watch is powered by important Cal. GP 350-551, the first version of own in-house groundbreaking movements with the quartz oscillating at 32,768 Hz, adopted since then as a universal standard for all watchmaking industry.

The GP-350 movement was equipped with an integrated circuit produced by Motorola, bringing together the equivalent of 300 transistors within an area equivalent to 5 mm2. This was the first time that quartz wristwatches passed the static and dynamic tests at the Neuchatel Observatory.

C. Two-body, polished and brushed, hooded lugs, screwed down case back. D. Blue and red “circuit”, outer minute/seconds divisions, aperture for the date. White baton hands. M. Cal. 350-551, with quartz standardisation. Dial, case and movement signed. Dim. 38 x 42 mm. Thickness 13 mm.
